Why your brand is getting ignored.

Ever wonder why some brands get stuck in your head while others barely register?

The truth is most businesses don’t fail because of a bad product or service. They fail because their branding doesn’t connect. If your audience isn’t engaging with your brand, the solution isn’t just more marketing, it’s making your brand recognisable, trustworthy, and memorable.

Infographic showing that 81% of consumers need to trust a brand before buying, highlighting why brand credibility matters.

Why branding matters!

Here’s the reality of branding in numbers:

  • 81% of consumers need to trust a brand before buying. (wisernotify)

  • 88% of consumers say authenticity is key when choosing a brand (Oberlo)

  • 50% of people are more likely to buy from brands they recognise (wisernotify)

  • A consistent brand presence can boost revenue by 23% (Forbes)

  • 64% of consumers make a purchase after watching a branded social video (Forbes)

If your brand lacks a narrative, a compelling story that connects with your audience, you’re not just missing out on recognition. You’re missing out on sales, loyalty, and long-term success.

Think about the brands you buy from again and again. Why them? What keeps you coming back? Chances are, they’ve nailed these five brand fundamentals:

  • BRAND VALUES What does your business stand for?

  • UNDERESTANDING YOUR AUDIENCE Does your messaging align with what they care about?

  • BRAND STORY Are you solving a real problem for your customers?

  • VISUAL IDENTITY AND BRAND VOICE Does your look and sound consistent?

  • CONSISTENCY IS KEY! Is your branding instantly recognisable or does it feel disjointed?

How to Get Your Brand Back on Track and Start Winning Customers

If you’ve hesitated on any of the points above, it’s time to take action. Here are my top five tips to get your brand back in shape:

  1. Check Your Brand Strategy

Do you have one? If yes, review your values. Are they still aligned with your business? If you don’t have a strategy, it’s time to create one.

  2. Define Your Audience

Who is your ideal customer? Does your actual customer base match that vision? If not, reassess your brand positioning and ensure your messaging speaks to the right people.

  3. Create Your Narrative

Your brand story should make it easy for customers to see:

    • Why they need your product/service

    • How it solves their problem

    • What their journey looks like from discovery to purchase

Every brand touchpoint (website, social media, emails, ads) should reinforce this story.

  4. Align Your Look

Does your current brand still feel relevant? If not, it’s time to rebrand and make sure your visuals match your strategy, audience, and message.

  5. Brand Consistency = Trust

Audit your brand across all platforms:

    • Is your logo, colour palette and fonts the same everywhere?

    • Is your messaging consistent?

    • Does your brand voice sound the same across your website, social media, and marketing materials?

If not, it’s time for a serious brand clean-up.

What does a successful brand look like?

Case Study: Spray Tans Penrith

One of my clients, Sky McIntyre, owner of Spray Tans Penrith, came to me looking for a brand transformation.

We started by analysing her competition, her audience, and her business goals. Her mission? To make women feel empowered, comfortable, and confident through her services.

From there, we built a brand strategy with a fun, fresh, and bold identity that reflected her values. The results?

  • 39% increase in sales

  • Stronger brand consistency across all platforms

  • Higher customer trust & engagement
